This past weekend, some current and former member sof the Z-team participated in the first ever NYC Hackathon.

The Hackathon, held in partnership with co-working space General Assembly, “invites developers and designers to create imaginative, new prototypes of NYC.gov, the City of New York’s primary web presence. The goal of the event, building off the success of the City’s annual Big Apps competition, is to encourage collaboration and engagement with New York City’s technology and design community while helping to inform the City’s redesign of NYC.gov, as outlined in the Road Map for the Digital City.”

Our own Fabian Garzon (in front, with camera) was part of Team Appleseed, which took a look at NYC.gov‘s search function and won the award for “Best User Interface”.
