Chris Brogan has a terrific article up on his blog today about how his love for Batman has impacted his social and business relationships. It’s a great analysis of how social media has changed how we interact with each other and erased the line between public and private personas. When you read it, you’ll probably also notice that Chris has some very kind words to say about DJ and myself.

So what’s the inside story? How did a couple of Zemogans end up hanging out with a Social Media guru and some of the world’s best known superheroes?

We’re regular readers of Chris’ blog and a few weeks back he mentioned that he was a big comic book fan. In my previous life, I had worked at Marvel Comics and consulted for several other companies in the comic book industry. So I told Chris that if he was ever in New York, he should drop me a line and we would visit the Marvel or DC offices. Chris was proactive enough to follow up with me and before you know it, Chris, DJ and I were walking in to the headquarters of DC Comics and receiving a personal guided tour from a friend of mine who works there.

Check out this screen cap from some of the video DJ shot. And we thought we had fun offices!

We all had a blast and a spirit of camaraderie was quickly formed. After the tour the three of us grabbed a quick bite and swapped stories about Zemoga, Chris’ business New Marketing Labs, and our various experiences in the new Web 2.0 world. What had started as a random blog comment had quickly become a new friendship and a new business relationship that beneftted everyone.

It’s a great example of the personal touch that both Chris and Zemoga strive to bring to our work and also a great example of using new tools to connect with partners in new and exciting ways. Shared (non-business) interests brought us all together and that wouldn’t have been possible without the digital media we’re all deeply involved with.

Thanks again for joining us, Chris. Can’t wait to go around the Marvel Comics offices with you the next time you’re in town!
