As technologists and innovators, we’re all about the future. And when we see a threat to that future, we’re compelled to take action. That’s why we’ve teamed up with the folks at the TED Prize FOUNDATION to help out JAMIE OLIVER’S FOOD REVOLUTION. For those of you who don’t know, the goal of Jamie’s FOOD REVOLUTION television show and the accompanying digital campaign is to change the way kids are fed in the United Sates. This involves changing school meal programs and teaching parents and kids about simple cooking and healthy eating. The core of the campaign is a petition that Jamie plans to submit to the President and First Lady, showing the public support for this initiative.
“The support from the TED Community has been overwhelming. These guys run an innovative new media agency and have designed the first major community platform for America’s Food Revolution. It’s amazing work, guys,” says Jamie Oliver.
Jamie is looking to get a million signatures on the petition and we’re going to help him get there. We’ve built content for Jamie’s website that provides resources like PDF toolkits to help people change their lives and their communities. We’ve also created a Facebook page for the “Food Revolution Community” that allows people to engage in a dialogue with Jamie and other users and keep the campaign growing and expanding. If you want to become part of the movement (or just see some of the work we’ve done) you can view toolkits and sign the petition. And if you want to talk to fellow revolutionaries, visit the FOOD REVOLUTION page of Facebook.
Let’s all do our part and make a brighter future for our kids!
