1. So first things first – what do you do for Zemoga?
I’m a new applications developer and will be supporting the software architectural design tasks.
2. How did your first day go? What was your first impression of the Z Team?
My first day was off to a very busy start trying to get legal certifications and papers. We took care of a lot of financial and social security issues before work got underway.
Meanwhile, my new desktop and computer was being assigned. By the end of the day, I already had a ton of things to do!
With regards to my first impressions of the Z Team, I felt that there was something special about these guys since the beginning. I remember I was at an Aerosmith concert back in May. I received a phone call prior to the gig, and it was some Zemoga guys asking me to meet up with them. I thought that was a really cool gesture.
Ever since then, and during the initial interviews and tests, I’ve felt a great sense of friendship towards these guys. I also knew a few of them from previous jobs, so it was great to see some familiar faces.
3. How has your career prepared you for this position?
I’ve been working in technology companies for several years, on projects for insurance companies, medical, academic or even prepaid commerce solutions. I’m into software engineering at every stage of a project, from requirement management, application design, coding, documenting, and maintenance. I’m glad that I get to do this everyday as part of the Zemoga team.
4. When you’re not in the Zemoga office, what do you like to do for fun in Bogota?
Even though there are some things that get in the way of me exploring Bogota (traffic jams, for example), I still like to go out to a good restaurant, or enjoy a beer while listening live rock bands in a bar when I get the chance to. Come to think of it, it’s been a while since I’ve gone out!
Other than that, I enjoy going to yoga classes, boulder rock climbing, basketball and soccer playing. Listening to radio, watching the news and documentaries are also some of my favorite activities.
5. So when you’re not enjoying some of the activities from Zemoga’s Life Dimensions program, what kind of movies do you watch? What kind of books do you read?**
In terms of movies, it depends on my mood; I usually enjoy action movies, drama or sci-fi futuristic movies. I also like history and music documentaries.
I haven’t had much time to read as much as I used to, but I like novels like Kundera.
6. Think fast: If you were a superhero, what would your special power be?
One with Constitution=14, Intelligence=14, Charisma=13, Wisdom=16, Strength=13, Dexterity=15. Maybe I would be a wizard from ancient times, like Gandalf…hehe.
