It wouldn’t be a Zemoga newsletter without us telling you about another cool project we worked on for Sears.
The Sears Wishbook has been a beloved holiday tradition for years. It’s also a major component of the retailer’s marketing strategy, a key part of their holiday sales strategy. So creating cross platform functionality for this major brand asset required both innovative thinking and a comprehensive knowledge of the iOS platform.
Zemoga developed a robust application that is optimized for both iPad and iPhone use. The experience begins with a rich, visually appealing user interface that is custom designed for touch screen navigation. Key components of the site design include the “Trending Tree”, a feature that shows the most popular gifts of the season and the “Snow Globe”, which allows users to find gifts by shaking the iPad like a traditional snow globe. Users can also find products through a more traditional gift finder and search and browse functionality.
In addition, the application also lets users make shopping lists, browse popular categories and even “dog ear” pages, just like the traditional catalog. The iPhone application is also platform optimized, letting users sign up for exclusive text alerts and holiday themed wallpapers.
Both applications also incorporate the “Bumpin’ Santas” game, another Zemoga developed app that brings a fun, social dimension to the shopping experience.
With full integration with the Sears database and website, Wishbook for iPad took one of America’s favorite shopping experiences and turned it in to one of the hottest apps of the holiday season.
