Do you know the comedian Louis CK? Ricky Gervais name checks him as the best stand up in America and like all great comedians he’s also a great observer of life. Check out the video above for his take on the state of technology today.
You know what? He’s right. As much as we promote innovation on this blog, it’w worth stopping every once in a while and remembering just how far we’ve come.
Today, I’m down in Washington, covering the FDA hearings for our sister blog, Pixels and Pills. We’re recording interviews with a handheld HD video camera. Then we’re editing the raw footage with Final Cut Pro, an affordable editing suite that’s used by major Hollywood production houses (but is still within reach of the average consumer). Then we’re transferring those files over to a 300 GB hard drive that’s basically the size of a deck of cards. Finally, because the hearing rooms have no internet access, I’m using an AT & T wireless connector (that also doubles as a USB drive) to upload these videos to the internet. And those files are being viewed by people all across the country.
Louis is right. Everything is pretty amazing.
When was the last time you stopped and thought about all the tools and resources at your disposal? How are you going to take advantage of amazing?
